The purpose of the Middlesbrough Cultural Partnership
The Middlesbrough Cultural Partnership was founded to:
- bring together arts and culture organisations and professionals in Middlesbrough to be a unified voice and an influential authority acting both regionally and nationally
- support the bid by the Tees Valley Combined Authority to be named UK City of Culture in 2025
- support the 2016 cultural strategy to culture across the borough as a significant force for community benefit and renewal
- create an independent strategic sector-led approach to nurturing and developing culture in Middlesbrough
- protect and build on the cultural heritage of Middlesbrough as a collective
The Middlesbrough Cultural Partnership will:
- provide a voice for the whole cultural sector in Middlesbrough
- develop a wide ambition for the role of arts in the town
- present collective offer and voice to Middlesbrough’s people, visitors and to the wider region
- develop a way of working which builds, enables and champions creativity and participation for artists and for audiences
- build on the impact of artistic programmes
- engage everyone creatively
- work collaboratively with local and international artists
- support the Arts Council England Strategy 2020-2030
